Abstract
A summary of the resource.
This collection contains sheet music cover artwork for vocal arrangements, piano scores, opera librettos and sacred songs by Chopin, Bach, Schubert, and Haydn, and other classical composers, as well as popular songs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The University Libraries at Virginia Tech recognizes that some issues of the selections from the sheet music collections contain offensive content that does not reflect the University’s “Principles of Community” and its commitment to inclusion and diversity. The University Libraries present the following content in its original and unaltered form for the purpose of research, study, and personal reading. Providing online access to these historical records does not endorse any attitudes, prejudices, or behaviors depicted in the pages of the Virginia Tech Course Catalogs. The University Libraries is committed to upholding the principle of equal and free access to unaltered historical information and supports the University’s statement on offensive photographs.

Thank you so much for your letter. Times like these don't offer a point of reference or protocol, and I remain deeply moved by the immediate and ongoing responses of the Virginia Tech administration, faculty, student body, law enforcement officers and the Blacksburg community. You make a crucial point. We need to keep talking to each other. Silence will sometimes seem more convenient, but can well end up being a bad habit. We haven't gotten this far by keeping to ourselves.

If you've got a few minutes, take a listen to this song. It was done a few of weeks ago and has moved me a few squares forward, so I'm giving them away until I've given out.
