More Women's History @Special Collections

• Did you know you can find Special Collections on Twitter? We're @VT_SCUA and throughout the month of March, we'll be tweeting out facts, items, and images from our collections (#WomensHistoryMonth) relating to women's history at Virginia Tech, in the sciences, in literature and the humanities, and more!

• Since 2013, our History of Food & Drink Collection blog, "What's Cookin' @Special Collections?!" has included a series of posts for Women's History Month each March. You can read Parts 1-12, as well as a bonus "Prequel #1" post, on the blog here. Posts usually go up on Thursday and since March 2016 has FIVE Thurdays, Parts 13-17 will be added this year, so we encourage you to follow along! You can also follow it via RSS or through our Twitter account, @VT_SCUA. 

• The University Archives portion of our website also includes interviews and transcripts of interviews with pioneering black women at Virginia Tech. 

• Finally, as part of our Women's History Month celebration, we have also created a display of physical materials from our manuscript and book collections and the University Archives. Part of this exhibit in open for viewing in the Special Collections Reading Room and part of it is nearby on the first floor behind the cafe/in the open study space. (If you can't find it, just ask in Special Collections!) Both of these exhibits can be viewed whenever the library is open for the month of March.

In 2013, when Special Collections hosted its first Women's History Month exhibit in our display cases, we also created a slideshow of images that played on a monitor. We recently re-discovered that slideshow and thought we would share it here!
