"Hatton"

Robert Hopkins Hatton (1826-1862) was a lawyer and politician in the United States and Confederate States. He grew up in Tennessee and attended the Cumberland School of Law. As Woods mentions here, he was initially opposed to secession but changed his mind once Lincoln called for volunteers following the battle at Fort Sumter. He then organized his own Confederate regiment which became a part of the 7th Tennessee Infantry Regiment and later died while leading troops at the Battle of Fair Oaks.
