Bill Roth grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania playing ice hockey. He attended Syracuse University studying multimedia journalism, wanting to work in sports broadcasting. After graduating, he was hired at Virginia Tech as the “Voice of the Hokies,” doing radio for Virginia Tech athletics, and worked here for 27 years. In this interview, Roth talks about his journey into sports broadcasting, college athletics, and the work which placed him in the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.
