Mr Dear Wife

Once more I take the

opportunity to tell you concerning my

health I have been a little debilitated

[within?] the last few days; but I think

that I am once more improving I

sent for a physician & got some

medicine which I think will benefit

me; the most now that is the mat-

ter with me is weakness but I think

in a few days I will be able to sit

up, We have no news of any importance

I would like very much to hear from

home & to hear what are your conclusions

if there is any danger of the Yankees

getting in. I have heard no news

concerning the enemy in SW Va

for a good while, but I do not [apprehend?]

any danger here. I have not received

a letter from home in two or three

weaks I would like very much to

hear from home. My love to

all my children & other relations

I want to hear from you immediately

Your true & affectionate husband
